Website Responds To Twitter Spoof

A Twitter user, who tweeted a fake letter from WeBuyAnyCar.com apparently refusing to buy a child’s plastic car, has unwittingly created a fantastic PR opportunity for the company.

WeBuyAnyCar.com have responded to the Tweet spoof – which was retweeted 26,000 times - by setting up a website named WeBuyAnyTOYCar.com.

The site aims to buy 100 Little Tikes children’s cars donating £10 to road safety charity ‘Brake’ for each one received.

The website explains: “We can’t stand the idea of unloved Tikes covered in cobwebs in garages across the UK. So we’re staging a Tike amnesty, offering to buy the first 100 Tikes in good working order (must have two doors, a roof, pedals and no floor)”.

A WeBuyAnyCar.com spokesman is reported as saying: "We loved the hoax letter thought up by @JamieDMJ. It gave us a giggle and the engagement on Twitter has been great fun."`
