School to keep drivers on right side of the law
British holidaymakers who may be nervous about driving abroad this summer can now brush up on their skills at the UK’s first left hand driving school.
Travel search site Skyscanner has launched the special driving school in London to give holiday-goers confidence when driving abroad.
The site has joined forces with a team of driving instructors and is offering free classes to travellers looking to stay on the right side of road laws overseas.
The launch of the service comes as a Skyscanner survey finds that more than one in four British drivers are afraid of driving on the opposite side of the road.
Over a third (36%) of the 1,084 adults questioned online admitted that they don’t research driving laws before driving abroad, with 24% saying they would prefer their partners to do all the driving.
Skyscanner’s Mary Porter said: “With two-thirds of the world’s countries driving on the right-hand side of the road we wanted to give British holidaymakers the confidence they need to drive overseas.”
The Left Hand Driving School opens officially in July, with free places up for grabs initially in London.
