Global Nissan Recall
Global motoring giant and local employer Nissan has recalled more than 130,000 defective UK models due to a steering wheel default.
The Japanese manufacturer issued the recall after problems with a specific nut on the steering column were highlighted by Japanese consumers: "Over time, the nut that holds on the steering wheel can become loose,” a spokesman said.
Although Nissan assures Micra owners that the issue does not present a risk to personal safety, nearly 850,000 models have been recalled worldwide.
Models affected range between December 2002 and May 2006. Nissan advises that a simple check at a registered dealership will take no longer than 15 minutes.
