Non-fault accident claims arise after an accident in which another road user was at fault.
Seeking non-fault accident compensation should not affect your no-claims bonus, providing the incident is settled 100% in your favour and the claims costs are able to be recovered from the at-fault party.

Not in the majority of cases, but in some cases, your insurance premium may increase after a non-fault accident claim. While the collision itself was the fault of the third party or other road user, circumstances surrounding the incident could conceivably lead to more accidents in the future. These factors could be the concentration of traffic on the roads you travel on, and the times you travel, such as rush hour.
If Winns settle your claim and it is 100% in your favour (i.e. there is no split liability), then there will be no excess to pay. Should your claim be dealt with on a split liability basis, then there may be an excess to pay, however, should this happen, Winns will do our utmost to recover those charges from the at-fault party.

Can I get my car repaired after a non-fault claim without notifying my insurance company?
At Winns, we always recommend that you contact us before your insurer, as it allows us to better organise a like-for-like replacement hire vehicle and any medical treatment that you may need. We will then notify your insurer about your accident, but in some cases, they may also want to speak to you directly.
What do I do if a named driver had the non-fault accident?
When a named driver is involved in a non-fault accident, they are still entitled to make a claim for their injuries and/or other losses. If the vehicle owner wishes to pursue a separate claim for vehicle repairs/hire, then Winns are also able to help with this and can contact the owner to arrange hire and repairs.
Who pays the solicitors' fees after a non-fault accident?
Winns operates on a no win, no fee basis. This means that you won't have to pay a penny in legal fees should your claim be unsuccessful. If a settlement is agreed, then there may be deductions taken from your compensation in line with legal standards.
Can I claim after a non-fault accident in a courtesy car?
Non-fault accident claims can be made following a crash in a courtesy car. You may have to pay the excess to get the car replaced, but Winns will seek to recover this from the at-fault party as part of your claim.
